How Are We Assessed/Graded?

Modified on Wed, 26 Jul 2023 at 11:53 AM

You will find all the relevant guidelines and marking criteria on the Instructions and Resources page on Moodle or in your course-specific Student Handbook. Both of these are available on Moodle and should be your go-to resource if you have any questions about your assignments.

Your tutors are given the same guidelines and marking criteria to assess your work.

Component Weighting

The components of a module are not weighted equally and may vary depending on your programme.

In each module students must achieve a final percentage of over 40% otherwise it is likely the student must resit the module. The student's percentage for each module corresponds with a classification.

Feedback on your work

The purpose of feedback is to help you understand how your mark is derived and to highlight areas for improvement. You will be given feedback continuously throughout your modules on your Reflective Journal, and larger pieces of feedback on your whole performance when your results are released.

Feedback helps you to understand what you need to do to succeed in your assessed work. You will receive more formal written or verbal feedback on your assessed work (summative feedback) when you receive your marks for that work.
